Canada Startup Visa program

Overview

Canada Startup Visa was launched in 2013 as a pilot program to provide a smooth and hassle-free pathway to entrepreneurs from around the world aiming at relocating to Canada and expanding their business in the global market. Post a grand success of 68 businesses relocating to Canada, the pilot transitioned into a permanent program in 2018. The program after being permanent has witnessed growth in the number of applicants and approvals, from 2013 to 2021. In 2021, the program has seen 383 approvals with prominent interests from India, Iran, Vietnam, & China.

Eligibility

1

Business that are innovative, can create jobs and compete at a global scale

2

Must receive Letter of Support from the Government-Designated Body-(Angel Investor Group/Venture Capital Fund/Incubator)

3

Achieve an IELTS score of 5 in each category

4

The applicant must have sufficient funds to sustain in Canada

5

Up to 5 founders can apply

6

Each founder should hold a minimum of 10% stake and combined they should hold majority share
